Day 1

Today’s Prayer Focus

My Heart

Scripture

Psalm 51:10-12

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me away from Your presence,

And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,

And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Welcome!

Welcome to our fast for 2022!

The quote comes to mind, I didn’t come this far to only come this far... It’s a new year and if you’ve been alive any amount of time you will know that a lot of emphasis is put on New Years Resolutions, goals and changes to be made. And that somehow, stepping into a new year will magically wipe the slate clean. I would like to point out a very powerful verse in the Bible,

Matthew 17:20-21 NKJV

“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.””

This past year you may have faced some mountains, this coming year you may face some mountains but the Word is clear, NOTHING will be impossible for you with God by your side. Then the verse goes on to say, this kind, referring to a demonic spirit in the verses before, ”does not go out except by prayer and fasting". The point is, there are some obstacles in life that we can only overcome by taking things to a whole ‘notha level. You may not feel like fasting, chances are you don’t, because the enemy hates it. But if you really want to see change in your life, this will bring it! Sometimes fasting changes our situations, but mostly fasting changes us. It’s an opportunity to hear God’s voice clearer and less hindered. When we give up what our flesh craves such as food, entertainment, addictions and spend time in His presence… things happen!

We are so excited that you are on this fasting journey with us! Each day we will post a prayer focus and a scripture verse, we would challenge you to also make your own personal prayer list for fasting. There is power in agreement and as we stand together and fast and pray we will see things change!

Yes, if you cry out for discernment,

And lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver,

And search for her as for hidden treasures;

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,

And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom;

From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;

He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
